Packed bed scrubber

TREMA packed bed scrubber

TREMA packed bed scrubber are used to separate gaseous chemical contamination and for cooling and condensation.

With packed bed scrubber the exhaust air to be cleaned enters the scrubber axially at the bottom and flows through a packing fill from bottom to top. The scrubbing fluid is added to the fill from above, runs through it downwards in the countercurrent and absorbs pollutants that are present.

The scrubbing fluid is collected in the reservoir attached at the bottom of the packing column after running through the packing fill. The cleaned exhaust air leaves the packing column in the upper part through the gas exit port. The demister installed beneath the gas exit port prevents fine droplets carried along with the exhaust air flow from leaving the packing column.
